Puentes' work takes us to remote areas without access to health care. When we find a person in urgent need of help we give them the background and financial help they need by working with their families and with Peruvian health authorities. The people who need help always far outweigh our ability to provide aid. There is a brief overview of these cases after the jump. While the grand majority of Puentes work is focused on closing the educational and resource gap between the various regions of Peru we cannot ignore the dire need for basic and affordable medical services throughout the country. We believe that none of the issues we see on a day to day basis exists in a vacuum and if our partners through La Libertad are not healthy their input and work towards a project’s goal is severely compromised.Puentes health programs arise in the face of a severe need or an opportunity.
